HERD is a social enterprise in Singapore empowering children, youths, adults and seniors through horse-based programmes.
Known as Equine-Assisted Intervention (EAI), it is an approach gaining popularity around the world to enhance the psychosocial wellbeing of groups and individuals.
Our mission is to empower individuals to live more fulfilling and enriching lives through quality EAI and to provide opportunities for all persons to have meaningful interactions with retired horses in Singapore.
Why Equine-Assisted Intervention (EAI)?
Equine-Assisted Intervention (EAI) is a type of intervention that includes an equine-partner (horse) as part of the therapeutic process to improve human health and wellbeing.
Studies have reported a variety of benefits of EAI, such as increased self-esteem and self-acceptance, enhanced relational skills, reduced anxiety and feelings of depression and isolation, improved communication skills (including non-verbal), increased trust, and better impulse control, amongst others.

Our Equine-Assisted Intervention (EAI) programmes cater to individuals and groups, and are suitable for people of any age. Our youngest client is 8 months old, and oldest 79.
